Interesting.

The New York Times’ editorial board endorsed two female senators for the Democratic nomination for president Sunday: Elizabeth Warren and Amy Klobuchar.

The Times’ editorial board sat with nine leading candidates last month for on-the-record interviews, transcripts of which were later annotated and published in full.

For the first time ever, the dual endorsement was announced on The New York Times’ TV documentary show “The Weekly” on FX, offering rare access into the newspaper’s endorsement process. The show will stream on Hulu later Sunday night.

The New York Times’ opinion page published the endorsement online at 11 p.m. Sunday, and it will appear in the newspaper Monday.

Never seen the show but it may be an interesting watch. An editorial board usually comes together, whether voluntarily or by the nature of ultimate control being held by one among them, to make a single recommendation. The fact that this group of people couldn't find enough common ground to jointly recommend one candidate is an interesting development. It might also foreshadow a political dilemma for 2020.

Thanks for the share.

CNN had Bidens campaign staffer on earlier and they were blindsided by this. They felt certain it would be him. He kept saying "how does someone so far ahead in the polls not get the endorsement?"
