And the MSM, and the liberals were silent. What, it didn't matter then but matters now? Politics, pure and simple.

The Obama administration prosecuted approximately half a million adults for illegally crossing the U.S.-Mexico border between Fiscal year 2010 and Fiscal year 2016, Department of Homeland Security data provided to the Daily Caller reveals.

...

Current U.S. law dictates that criminal prosecution of adults will result in the separation of family units if they illegally cross together.

The Office of Refugee Resettlement’s public numbers however show that nearly 200,000 children were referred by the DHS between fiscal year 2012 to fiscal year 2016. These children either were separated by their families or they were unaccompanied minors.

DHS told TheDC it does not keep specific data from this period on the number of children separated from their families as a result of the Obama administration’s policy, but the data bolsters a claim made by DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen Monday. Nielsen insisted to reporters at the White House that both the Obama and Bush administrations separated families at the border.

This goes directly in the face of the Right's moronic claims that President Obama was for open borders. How many times was that lie repeated on Fox 'news' alone?

It is fucking incredible, that you and other Wingers are just now finding out what President Obama did years ago.

Were you all asleep?

Obama seeks $3.7B to stem tide of kids crossing border

As thousands of children continue streaming across the nation's southwest border,President Obama asked Congress on Tuesday for $3.7 billion to improve security along the border, provide better housing for the children while they're in custody and to speed up their deportation proceedings.

The White House also wants to increase assistance to El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras, where most of the children are coming from, to help them stop the rush of people leaving there and to improve their ability to receive the expected influx of deported children.

The request, which has been developed in recent weeks as multiple federal agencies have responded to the surge of children caught crossing the border without their parents, will get its first hearing Thursday before the Senate Appropriations Committee

No funding from Congress

Republicans blame Obama policies for immigration crisis on border

Republicans are challenging the president's characterization of the surge in young immigrants from Central America across the southern border as an unforeseen crisis, accusing his administration of contributing to the influx and demanding that he deploy National Guard troops and other resources to secure the border.

Plenty of blame...no funding.

What are you on about? Nothing to do with the OP. The OP shows that children were being separated under Øbama too.

Can you not read? Obama was asking for funding for more detention centers, more immigration judges and more staff.

Separation came from the system being over-taxed.

This is basic understanding of why we are here at this problem

Your not understanding the basics of the crisis and the causes is indicative of why you can not understand my post.

You simplistically want to blame Obama. I want to inform you as to why we are here at this point.

I guess obama isnt liberal then because we know from our conservative PH friends that liberals swoon over illegal immigrants.

Well that and he was not prosecuting every single illegal that was caught. Unlike this new "zero-tolerance" policy.

Family immigration detention centers in the U.S. could be at capacity within days, NBC News reported Wednesday.

The report comes hours after President Trump signed an executive order reversing his administration's widely condemned policy that separated migrant families crossing into the U.S. illegally at the southern border.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement-run centers have a capacity of 3,335 beds. Meanwhile, 420 parents and children are crossing the southern border in family groups on a daily basis, according to data obtained by NBC News.

I wonder how much money it's going to cost in the end to arrest, detain and give court hearings to every single person crossing the border for the first time - which, again, is a misdemeanor. I saw a pic on the news last night of a court hearing. There had to be at least 50 people at ONE hearing.

BTW, "Catch and Release" was only given to the lowest level of potential "threats", such as children, families, and those seeking asylum.. The OP's link makes it sound so much more sinister.

But nice to see the OP do "whataboutism" over and over and not one peep about about how cruel this current administration is.
