There's a couple of beds in my house to give a person a chance. Just ask Christians and you'll solve the border problems. The Bible belt is full of them and we solve these problems whenever we have a hurricane or any disaster.
Lily Allen tried that. My advice would be for you to check on YouTube what happened when she housed immigrants, have a rethink and then knock your idea on the head.

I'm thinking of all those millions and millions of people that came thru Ellis Island could see the Staute of Liberty as they arrived.

All of them coming here legally.
