A leading US ground-beef processor, AFA foods, filed for bankruptcy protection Monday, blaming media coverage of one of its products dubbed "pink slime" by critics.

AFA Foods said it was forced to file for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection "given recent changes in the market for its ground beef products and the impact of media coverage related to Boneless Lean Beef Trimmings (BLBT)."

when some dumb ass journalist called it "pink slime", they didn't really care about consequences.
That's right, blame it all on the media. Do you really think that they're the one's who came up with that name?

Get fucking real.

When I first heard about it, I thought of the movie Green Slime? Really though, someone needs to eat the scraps. Maybe they should consider making dog food?
