It turns out it was just one lone juror who saved former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort from being convicted on all 18 counts he faced in his Virginia trial.

Paula Duncan, a jury member who is an avid supporter of President Donald Trump, revealed to Fox News Wednesday night that it was this one lone juror who prevented Manafort from being found guilty on 10 of the charges.

"We all tried to convince her to look at the paper trail. We laid it out in front of her again and again and she still said that she had a reasonable doubt. And that's the way the jury worked. We didn't want it to be hung, so we tried for an extended period of time to convince her, but in the end she held out and that's why we have 10 counts that did not get a verdict," Duncan said in an interview on Fox News.

interesting. I'd imagine if the prosecution had their way Ms. Duncan would never have been on the jury. It's refreshing to see that she was able to put her political beliefs aside and vote based on the evidence. She makes Trump supporters look a lot better than they're often portrayed by the media. Especially given she thinks the Mueller probe is a "witch hunt".

That’s insanely annoying that one women held up the conviction when even an ardent Trump supporter could see the clear paper trail.

Though this should give the Mueller team hope and crush Manafort’s hopes of a better trial should he reroll the dice

it means that the defense team did a good job. Doesn't appear as if the jurors had a very favorable opinion of Gates. It's all the documented evidence that won them over. The defense played the only hand they had. The likelihood of winning over one juror and getting a mistrial. From what we're hearing from Ms. Duncan it well might have worked with a different jury make up.

Question. If this trial did not concern Trump why was the Trump supporter not going on the massive evidence laid out in front of her? Why would being a Trump supporter influence her thinking.?HMMM?

the hold out isn't a Trump supporter according to Ms. Duncan.
that's not what I read elsewhere. And anybody buying the witch hunt nonsense is highly likely to be a Trump supporter

"Duncan described herself as an avid supporter of President Trump, but said she was moved by four full boxes of exhibits provided by Mueller’s team – though she was skeptical about prosecutors' motives in the financial crimes case. "

yes. Ms Duncan is a Trump supporter. She's the one that used the term "witch hunt". But, according to her, the lone hold out was not a Trump supporter.
