Now why would they lie and try to obstruct investigations?
"Because Trump is a compulsive liar who has been an autocrat in his own world and a total novice as a politician" makes a lot more sense than Trump is secretly trying to get the Russians to help him beat Hillary. Or "because Trump has a history of admiration for Dictators and Mobsters who are controversial and likely to tweak other people's fear and admiration" makes a lot more sense than Trump's extensive history of overthrowing elections. Or "because has a thirty year history of wanting to do business in Russia and didn't want anybody to catch him doubting his ability to win the election" makes a lot more sense than Trump being some kind of international shaker and mover.

Trump's established history as a brash promoter, real estate tycoon, entertainer and self promoter leads to any or all of the obvious conclusions (in quotes).

The idea of Trump as an agent of Putin flies in the face of all of his history and his spotty record of failures and accomplishments.

Trump has been doing the same shtick his whole life. He's just trying to have a good time and he honestly doesn't care about what others think of him. Any publicity is good publicity even when it looks bad. Attention, clicks, quotes and just plain noise about him is the goal.

No, this entire false narrative was and is an invention aimed at trying to stop or depose this unacceptable person.

Hopefully, we will have more information on that topic soon.

We are trying to rid the presidency of a person who is wholly unfit for the office because of crimes that he has apparently committed including obstruction of justice. There is evidence of things like possible bank and tax fraud. Add in the fact that he has been desperate to do business in Russia that simply means we need to know exactly what he's been willing to do to secure that business. But I want him removed from office in a perfectly legal way. Either by impeachment or by losing his re-election bid.

Go for it. Should clear evidence emerge, I hope you will have equal enthusiasm for removing those who decided to ignore the voters and attempted to overturn the 2016 election.

The investigations began during the campaign. The behavior of members of Trump's campaign justified any and all investigations. In the course of Mueller's investigation other crimes were found and in some cases the knowledge of those crimes was used to get witnesses to talk. That is not at all unusual and you're well aware of that. Once these crimes were found should they just have been ignored?

The other thing you're mistaken about is that while Mueller and his people didn't feel they could point to a specific moment when the Trump campaign explicitly agreed to work with the Russians, there were many instances where the Trump people considered it. These people aren't perfectly innocent little angels who have been picked on. This is from the Mueller report, which you should read, btw.

Without the lies of the Hillary paid for Steel dossier, there would have been no investigation
