[FONT=&amp]At the exact moment when President Donald Trump was bragging about the economic boon from his tax reforms, the stock market experienced an historic crash — and according to one former White House economic adviser, that wasn’t coincidental.

“The stock market just noticed that an unstable lunatic is president of the United States,” Bruce Bartlett, a Treasury Department official under President George H.W. Bush and an economic adviser to President Ronald Reagan tweeted.

2017 was a glorious year.

The end of the 8 year safe stock market run.

2018 is already a negative year in Feb.

  • "My prediction for 2018 is that the S&P 500 will have a negative rate of return," Jeffrey Gundlach, the founder of DoubleLine Capital, said during an investor webcast on Tuesday.
  • Last year marked a record ninth in a row that the S&P 500 had a positive total return.
  • Higher interest rates could soon start to hurt equities, Gundlach said.

US defense industry to Congress: Don't let tax cuts add to the deficit

WASHINGTON — The U.S. defense industry is asking Congress, as the legislative body crafts tax overhaul plans, to avoid adding to the deficit because companies are fearful that higher deficits will encourage cuts to defense spending in the long run.

The Aerospace Industries Association, or AIA, is calling on lawmakers to “get to as close to a revenue-neutral tax plan as possible, given the political environment,” said its vice president for legislative affairs, Doc Syers.
