Ron Paul Supporters?

I am not in love with any of the republican candidates....none are true conservatives. But all are more conservative than any of the Democrats.
None are true conservatives because a true conservative cannot win, any more than could a true Socialist. Electing a Centrist is best for unity, and really is the only compromise, as well as the best way to move forward as a country. Both sides give up a little, and keep a little. If the far right or the far left were to win, the divisiveness of the country would continue the current stalemate we're already enjoying. In my opinion.

Reagan won twice.

That is the problem, politicians think they have to abandon conservative principles to win...and they lose...or they pretend to be conservatives (see GWB) to win.

I loved Reagan, for the most part. I wasn't a big fan of the Meese report, or the administration's desire to step into the bedroom of US citizens. But Reagan WAS a former Dem. And he had Charisma to spare. I don't think he was elected the first time so much for being conservative as for being the anti-Jimmy Carter. And anybody could have beaten Mondale and Ferraro, but especially seeing how Reagan was putting pressure on the Evil Empire at the time! Nobody was gonna change mid-stream with that going on.

Most people will always be loyal to their party. So much so, that it has become the sole reason why you will never see a real change in this country.

I agree.
I've loved the Miami Dolphins since '72.
I sympathize with the Bushbots!

Let me help you with your obvious hysterical rants emphazied by large type and bold fonts...there now doesn't that appear more rational?
Since you surely had no “rational” response to my post, it’s surely not curious that you’d attack the “type” of the message for lack of any rationality on your part.

I don't buy your viewpoint...as most Americans who are not seduced by leftist talking points don't...and please do "write-in" your wasted vote...I would rather have it wasted than misplaced.
Actually, “most” Americans oppose the unnecessary and unconstitutional war, you should get out more.

If your identifying me as a leftist, or even a leftist sympathizer, I do believe that as my future post progress, you’ll find that opinion to be laughable. Actually, leftist are right up there with the rightist on my “contempt meter.”

In regard to my vote, what vote could possibly be more “wasted” than a vote for the status-quo? The lesser of two evils is still evil. The only thing a vote for the status-quo will “WIN” is a guarantee of more of the same BIG, unconstitutional, intrusive, corrupted authoritarian government. If that’s your bag, just hold your nose, and close your eyes when you mark your ballot, it all comes out the same no matter which corrupted lying phony socialist authoritarian you end up picking.

And, I would opine that since you avoid naming your favorite candidate, you have tremendous fear others will rip him/her to shreds here. So, is that why you identify yourself as a “conservative?” Your soooo conservative that your uncommitted, or fear commitment?

As I stated, people are loyal to their party, even though they don't like any of the candidates. Even if one of the members of the opposing party was of interest, they would still vote their party if for nothing but spite. Many people will wait for election day, vote their party, and if they don't have a favorite, they will choose the lesser of two evils.

It might be a pipe dream, but it sure would be nice if people could recognize that there doesn't NEED to be only 2 major parties. Its almost as if people just don't WANT there to be more because then it would be TOO DIFFICULT to figure out who to vote for!

It's not that. It's that people are scared of making a real change. So what do they do? They complain and complain and then gravitate back to what they are use to - the same old thing. It is a cycle that seems will never have an end. If people really wanted a change, they would protest and demand that the playing field be made equal between all of the parties, so that we could all have a look and a listen at ALL the parties and candidates. Think that will ever happen? NO!

10% while not a huge outpourig of support is more then one would expect from a 3rd party candidate....As you all know I am a liberal but I could see Paul doing well with independents in New Hampshire. He will not outshine McCain I don't think but he will outshine Guliani and rest of the also rans.
