School district REFUSES to let parents see LGBT videos after students were forced to watch them

This is insane. A school district in Pennsylvania didn’t even give parents the opportunity to object to their children being forced to watch LGBT videos as a part of of the school day. And now they won’t release the videos so that parents can see what their children have already seen:

Parents and conservative activists are voicing outrage with a Pennsylvania school district that has refused to provide links to pro-LGBT videos that were shown to about 2,800 students in April. In June, the social conservative religious freedom law firm the Liberty Counsel sent a letter to the superintendent of the East Penn School District to request that the district disclose links to four videos that were shown to students at Emmaus High School during the school district’s LGBT “Unity Week” in April.

...

Despite parents’ requests to see the videos, Kieres stated that the school board solicitor has advised that “these videos cannot be sent to you, because they are part of a student project.”

The poor darlings, "forced" to watch a public information vid. I bet there will be sleepless nights in bigotsville tonight! Twitchy parents will be checking for wet dreams.

They were films made by students, so the request for parents to see them is like asking to see other student's book reports.

Superintendent Michael Schilder turned down a request by parents to share links or copies of those videos.

However, he did provide titles and descriptions of the videos.

Schilder said the videos were student work and expression, not part of a curriculum, so they didn’t have to be shared.

"A parent or member of the public has no right to view or access a student's term paper, speech, or multimedia project just because he or she objects to the topic,” Schilder previously said.
And from what I can glean it was just one couple who objected.

Parents felt they should have been told in advance that the videos would be played and given the chance to have their children opt out of watching them.

At the June 11 school board meeting, Mike Huff and Michelle Blagbrough spoke to the board about what they referred to as “parental rights.”

Huff said his son, an Emmaus High School student, felt the videos “bullied” him for his heterosexuality.

Blagbrough said the school should have communicated with the parents about the videos and contended they should have been played outside of the school day.
And of course, some out of town activist who's children didn't attend the school showed up at the meeting to get her two cents in.

Also at that meeting was Diane Gramley, president of the American Family Association of Pennsylvania who drove to Emmaus from her home in Franklin, near Pittsburgh.

She contended it was inappropriate to keep the videos shrouded from parents.
The whole point of the videos was to send an anti-bullying message.

Apparently that's now considered bullying by ONE couple. *gasp*'

From the OP. The article itself.

Despite parents’ requests to see the videos, Kieres stated that the school board solicitor has advised that “these videos cannot be sent to you, because they are part of a student project.”

That’s your answer.

“these videos cannot be sent to you, because they are part of a student project.”

Here it is again.

“these videos cannot be sent to you, because they are part of a student project.”

Situation sucks. But obviously you cannot demand to see soneone else’s kid’s homework. Regardless of the reason. The school cannot disseminate a students honework to other students parents.

For fucks sake this is IN THE ARTICLE.

If anyone has gone to a website or news source that presented this as a SCHOOL video, as opposed to a student project that they could not possibly spread around, then for the love of God NEVER trust anything on that website or news source ever again.

Theyre deliberately lying, trying to trick you.

Here it is one last time.

These Christianists DEMAND that their children be shielded from encountering real life!
