Nothing says "I ♥️ the Troops" like making them forfeit a 3-day weekend to goose-step down Penn. Ave. in July heat to amuse Donald.
WTF is up with his envy and jealousy of countries? We're not N. Korea. This isn't what America does.

Trump: "We're actually thinking about, 4th of July, Pennsylvania Avenue, having a really great parade to show our military strength."

Are you embarrassed of our military or something?

You know we hold air shows constantly don't you?

I would love to see a parade showcasing our other equipment we don't get to see much.

In Portland, OR it was always a huge event when the Navy ships came in.

Nope. It's too reminiscent of Stalin's Russia, Hitler's Germany, Kimmy's Korea.
It's also a reflection of Trump's narcissism, which is highly fucked up considering he's a draft dodger.
Now, a re-enactment of the Revolutionary war would be awesome.

The lack of military parades in the US is a relatively new development.

The NYT's once called it the finest feature of the celebration of Independence day.

I haven't found out why they have fallen out of favor but they used to be quite common.

Some military bases hold demonstrations for the public with all their equipment though I've never been to one.

Most nations in the world, even democratic ones, hold military parades.

I think it would be a fantastic tradition to bring back.

And I do believe there are re-enactments of the Revolutionary War.

You're so patriotic and gung-ho, what branch of service did you serve in?

Thx

Oh God, this is commie shit. What next? An inner sanctum dubbed the Politbureau?

Maybe there is some truth in this Russia scandal after all?

My father got me hired at Mcdonnell Douglas when I was 18.

I was going to join the Marines but took the job instead.

Guys who went in to the military at my age got out and came to work where I did, mostly aircraft mechanics, and I was already making about 6 bucks an hour more than what they started at.

I kind of regret not going, I have a huge military family, almost everyone's been or are still in it.
