Should religions be classified as Fake News? The bible seems to say yes.

Fake News is what many are calling lies or distortions of the truth these days.

No organizations distort the truth and outright lie about Gods than the organized religions.

Should religions be classified as Fake News?

The bible seems to say yes.

Isaiah 56:11) "They are shepherds who have no understanding; They have all turned to their own way, each on to his unjust gain, to the last one" But do not despair, for the day of judgment is at hand, for the day of judgment and the day of the LORD occupy the same time frame. All the dross will be burned away. (Zech 13:9) & (Malachi 3:3). In that day, "you will distinguish between the righteous and the wicked" (Malachi 3:18)

Luke 11:52 Woe unto you, lawyers! for ye have taken away the key of knowledge: ye entered not in yourselves, and them that were entering in ye hindered.

Mark 7:13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye.

Fake News is primarily opinion wrapped in news clothing. News about religion is real news. Arguments about religion can be informative, but they are not news.

For example, I learned more about Intelligent Design from Cpsan debates on the topic than anything I have read here or elsewhere because the debates are respectful.

But the content was only "new" to me. News, in general, is reports on things that have happened. Interpretation or blending the event with opinion makes it something less than real news.

Many headlines are not "news" because they distort what happened to grab an audience. If the accompanying articles are loaded up with judgments and lack named sources, they become more and more fake.

I hear you, but if I substitute where you put "Fake News" with "the bible" your post reads just about exactly the same way.

The bible is said to be the good news. I just see it as Fake News.

Religion is fake news I suppose, since it does offer an opinion of how things were and how things will be. Religion would have to fall under the heading of fake...since all religions, regardless of the faith, are opinion based on nothing substantial.
Even those who are of the same faith argue over interpretation of their faith.

Well put and accurate.
