Voters in some parts of Florida are waiting as long as four hours to cast their ballots before early voting ends Saturday night.
The Miami-Dade County Election Department was reporting early voting wait times in excess of one hour at all 20 of its polling locations. At two locations – the Election Department main office and the North Dade Regional Library – officials were reporting wait times of four hours.
The ballot in Miami-Dade County is five pages long, front and back, with an estimated completion time of as long as 30 minutes.
Farther north, in the Tampa Bay area, election officials were reporting shorter wait times at most polling sites, with only a handful exceeding 45 minutes.
When asked about how voters waiting in lines were reacting to the lines in Hillsborough County, Travis Abercrombie, the public information coordinator for the Hillsborough County Elections Office, said they have “the patience of Job.”

sounds to me like there may not be enough early voting locations. up to a half hour to fill out a ballot is a very very long time.

it's the republicans fault according to you.

i far as i know, early voting locations are controlled by the county they are held in, not the state.

Abc News said:
The early voting window was reduced by Republican Florida Gov. Rick Scott from 14 to 8 days, or from 120 to 96 hours.
This is why you should read the article.. You might find out that your assumptions are somewhat wrong..

Poor whiny American Idol Nation citizens had to wait a while to vote, oh the horror.

Any reports of shelling, IED's, amputations of ink-stained hands, etc, that Iraqis endured to vote?

This OP is a good example of why we are having such difficulty in the two parties working together.

The accusations are baseless. Obviously there are a large number of issues on the ballot - which wouldn't have gotten on the ballot without support of the democratic party. Obviously there are not enough polling stations set up, the democratic party in Florida is also part of the budgeting process.

Most importantly, who benefits most in this election from discouraging voters?

Romney is ahead and will win Florida if Obama's stooges can't manipulate and discourage voting.

Sounds to me like its the left up to no good in Florida.

Oh please tell us oh wise one considering it's the dems that are overwhelmingly voting early!

Why would a governor reduce the days for early voting? Seems to be it's a no brainer.

Considering the voters are turning out anyway this should backfire on the cheater.

i need to read?

i'm talking about early voter locations, not the number of days to early vote.
The state reduced the number of days, the number of early voting locations and the number of polling places for election day. It is flat out corruption. In some counties, the state only authorized one polling place for every 50,000 registered voters. That is just flat out voter suppression. The town I grew up in has a population of 80,000 (so maybe like 60,000 registered voters) and it has 65 polling places this year. Were it to use Governor Scott's ratio, it would have just over one polling place.

But guess what, this problem somehow is only happening in heavily minority, urban, districts. Rural, affluent or white areas are pretty much unaffected. Shocker, right?
