It comes as no surprise. Stability and love in the home, regardless of the sex of the parents, does wonders for the children.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/ and Study Shows Children Raised By Same-Sex Couples Do Better In School

Children of same-sex couples perform better in school than kids raised by a mom and a dad, according to new research from several European economists.

The researchers found that children raised by same-sex couples had higher test scores in elementary and secondary school and were about 7 percent more likely to graduate from high school than children raised by different-sex couples.

They added: “Further, we also find that children from same-sex couples continue to outperform children from opposite-sex couples in secondary education. Our results suggest that children from same-sex couples are 6.7 percent more likely to graduate than children from opposite-sex couples.”

Socio-economic conditions of same-sex couples may play a role in results

Researchers believe that the socio-economic conditions of the same-sex households the children grow up in may be a factor in their academic performance.

“Our results mostly support the selection approach stating that given the time-consuming and costly procedures for same-sex couples to obtain children, same-sex parents typically have a high socioeconomic status resulting in higher parental investment,” they state in the paper.

In fact, once they controlled for variables such as income, education and age, the difference in performance between kids raised by same-sex couples and those raised by opposite-sex couples was much reduced. “Nonetheless, the positive association was not entirely removed,” researchers added.

In their groundbreaking paper researchers explain:

Our results mostly support the selection approach stating that given the time-consuming and costly procedures for same-sex couples to obtain children, same-sex parents typically have a high socioeconomic status resulting in higher parental investment.
The fact that children raised by same-sex parents are academically successful should come as no surprise. Given the social stigma and obstacles often faced by same-sex couples desiring to be parents, it only stands to reason that same-sex couples who must plan for and want children are often better equipped to be parents than heterosexual parents who often produce children via unplanned pregnancy.

Indeed, it seems the take away from this study is that children are likely to be more successful if they are planned for and wanted. Full stop.

Bottom line: Contradicting years of anti-gay Christian propaganda, new research shows children raised by same-sex couples do better in school than children raised by more traditional opposite-sex couples.

On the face of it, it just sounds like the study was going to conclude this to keep up the government's propaganda agenda. I've read many studies on many areas and something seems strange about this tbh.

No surprise there. Heterosexual couples often have children by accident, children they don't really want and don't care for well. Same sex couples, on the other hand, have to really want a child and make a lot of effort to have one.

Children who are loved and wanted do better in school and better in life than those who aren't.

Yes the examples of higher achievement are oddly specific. Ex "they do better in high school" most likely means they do not do better in elementary or middle school.

Reminiscent of the studies I see on here about health care in Canada."studies show that male patients in northwest Regina, west of the river, with odd numbered addresses, under 5 feet tall, have a 6 percent chance of waiting longer for hip surgery on the left hip on Wednesdays than their US counterparts"

Like - they really had to filter that data down to nothing to get what they wanted.

Takeaway here though is that the kids do no worse. That's all that's needed to know.

Ah, inaccurate thread title.

The review of three decades of peer-reviewed research by Melbourne Children’s found children raised in same-sex-parented families did as well emotionally, socially and educationally as their peers.

Children raised by same-sex parents do as well as their peers, study shows

I just new it something was strange.
Which is further confirmation from a different thread where some objected... (You know who you are)

The important factors:
1- enter a relationship
2- stick with that relationship
3- don't abuse the children

That alone will produce children that are generally more balanced, most likely to lead healthy and productive lives and with the minimum chance that they will become violent, criminals, rapists, arsonists, etc they will have the best chance to not end up in prison. In spite of people hating that concept, that is the simple and actionable process to start working out the most significant social issues in a serious way.

I have also read about such studies and reports that children with same-sex parents do better in school than their Heterosexual counterparts. They are very telling and speak volumes about the situation.
