The Birth of the Israeli Air Force

Jun 2014
Cleveland, Ohio

U.S. Air Force veterans of WWII begged, borrowed and stole abandoned planes and flew them to Israel in 1948, to help fight the Israeli War of Independence.

Per Truman's policies, any American who went to Israel to fight lost their U.S. citizenship. They faced incredible odds that they would not survive, which must have softened the pain of losing their citizenship.

600,000 Jews against 50 million Arabs.

Astonishing story. Did you know it?
