The deal I just made with China is, by far, the greatest and biggest deal ever made for our Great Patriot Farmers in the history of our Country. In fact, there is a question as to whether or not this much product can be produced? Our farmers will figure it out. Thank you China!
— Donald J. No more subsidies to make up for the farmers' loss of a market? No more China buying from Brazil instead of the USA?

Or is Trump just talking out of his butthole once again?

China got hit extremely hard in the area of pork which is a main staple of their diet over there. It's like Americans drinking coffee.

The price of pork has soared like 60-70% and people just can't afford it and nobody else can fill their need as only American can produce enough for them. It also doesn't help that they've been losing a shit ton of their own pigs to disease. It really looks like our farmers are going to be benefitting even more than before because of what Trump has done. Have to wait for the final deal but Trump wouldn't be promising it if he didn't know what was going to go down on paper.

No idea what we are giving them yet though so can't decide if it's an overall good deal but it sure sounds like it for the farmers.

Increased pork prices are not due to the trade war:

BEIJING — China is launching a nationwide initiative to boost pork production following a price spike blamed on a devastating outbreak of African swine fever.

Pork prices have gone up quite a bit here and the disease outbreak in China has been at least part of the reason.

How much...?

They raise, and eat lots of pork in China...
