So if you're caught online eating fast food, i can fire you, or legally NOT hire you because of your filthy habit ?
You should be able to decide for yourself to buy someone else's labor for any reason or reasons you wish. If you personally don't like the look of my face, or my wristwatch, or the way I dress, or the sound of my voice, you should be free to not hire me.

There isn't equal opportunity. It's not possible to force it into existence. Equality is a mythical yearning. All we can do is promote a culture that isn't particularly nice to those that base their reasons for discriminating against people on stupid superficial characteristics like skin shade or their genitals or whatever. We can't force "equal opportunity" by grouping people according to their superficial characteristics and then lowering or raising the bar for them, or by litigating every hiring and purchasing decision based on the often impossible-to-prove accusation that the buyer is discriminating.

I've listened to jerkoffs like Peter Schiff try to peddle this drivel before. Doesn't do much for a black man trying to get a job at a bank in the 1950's in Alabama now, does it?

"Well, boy, ma customers just wouldn't have a black man for a tella. They'd go elsewhere. No sir. Can't have that. Tell you what...how'd you like to take out mah trash?"

And the entire region operates that way, so if you're black, you're a fucking slave and that's a fact.

And for all the negative impacts the government can have when it steps into a scenario like that, the fact is without it things are not going to change. After many decades now of enforced civil rights the truth is the culture down South has changed, and there have been some inroads made to sweeping away the unstoppable, pervasive culture of racism that dominated the region before. Whatever mistakes have been made, the government was instrumental in getting the ball moving.

Anonymous is the way to go.

Set up a normal real facebook page and put a few photos up and don't use it.

Use PH, Twitter, SexButt or whatever app you like and make a fake name.

If you post things about yourself publicly, the public part of that means people can freely access that information, and what they see there can influence their desire to hire you or not do so. It's not possible to create a protected class out of every single life decision, behavior, speech pattern, idiosyncrasy, or other thing. People can see things about you that you post publicly and make up their mind about whether they want you working for them. If they have roughly equivalent candidates for a position, they might decide quietly in their own minds that they're not hiring you because they noticed on social media that you smoke. Or enjoy fast food. Or say things they disagree with politically. Or because you're religious. It is not practical to police and adjudicate every single hiring decision and the possible non-job related factors people sometimes use to decide between two equivalent candidates.

I've had employment applications where they asked to be able to read my facebook page. Anything you ever say can be used against you, the past is no longer forgotten.
