How much has actually been built since 2016?

Of those 201-205 miles the Trump administration has received funding for through a combination of appropriations and the Treasury Forfeiture Fund (TFF), however, only 46.7 miles have been built two-and-a-half years into Trump's presidency. Much of the border wall that has been built has been put up in places where construction is replacing "dilapidated designs."

Out of 2,000 miles, 46.7 have already been built! That's over 2% there! Those pesos from Mexico have been rolling in, and construction is going strong.

You start out by building better barriers where shoddy ones were because even they were built in high traffic areas. That's just common sense which the anti wall crowd doesn't have much of.

You mean in 2006, right? It's DJT's M.O. to take credit for everything. Even things that didn't happen on HIS watch.

In 2006, the Secure Fence Act passed with bipartisan support requiring the construction of physical barriers along 700 miles of the nearly 2,000-mile U.S.-Mexico border. Sixty-four Democrats voted the measure in the House and 26 in the Senate.

The current Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer voted for it, so did Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden. Then-Illinois Sen. Barack Obama praised the bill in a floor speech saying it would "certainly do some good" and "help stem some of the tide of illegal immigration in this country."

In 2013, all Senate Democrats and most House Democrats backed comprehensive immigration reform legislation, the so-called Gang of Eight bill. It included $46 billion for border security and around $8 billion to repair or reinforce barriers along the 700 miles of the border as required under the Secure Fence Act.

Democrats supported the wall in 2006 when it was a fence

And Trump is building those barriers replacing sub standard fences with very efficient ones.

So...miles and miles of fixed and reinforced fences and walls, PLUS a brand spankin' new 47 miles of serious barrier.

BRAVO!

Thanks for the good news.

I've stepped under a shoddy, wire fence to (illegally ) enter Mexico. And stepped under the same fence to re-enter America (illegally). That area is now equipped with fencing that would prevent such crimes. However small that impact has on our nation, I believe it to be a positive impact.
