Trump would rather destroy American credibility than admit that something Obama did is working

“He doesn’t want to certify the Iran deal for more domestic reasons than international ones,” said Vali Nasr, dean of the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. “He doesn’t want to certify that any piece of the Obama strategy is working.”
"The occasion during which Secretary of State Rex Tillerson called Donald Trump a f#$%ing moron, was a meeting where Trump looked at a graph showing the number of US nuclear weapons, and declared that he wanted to put the US back at the top by building 68,000 new warheads—ten times what we currently have. Not because we need the weapons. Because Trump didn’t like being at “the bottom of the curve” on the graph."
"Clearly, Tillerson’s declaration was well-earned. But handling Donald Trump with kid gloves and scrambling to find ways to work around his temper tantrums is putting the nation, and the world, at constant risk."

=================================

That is certainly not good news. If we are at risk then something has to be done to quell the fear and get through to Trump that he needs to change course on what he wants to do. Why doesn't he understand that Obama's work should be duly recognized by him and instead work on ways of augmenting that work other than trying to find ways to destroy it.

Undoing the previous 8 years, is a big reason why he won the election.

I thought you would have known that.
First of all, you are sorely uninformed. The Iran deal began during the Bush administration as Bush became aware that Iran's nuclear capabilities were headed to a weapon.

We ended diplomatic dialog with Iran after the '79 revolution. Bush opened dialog with Iran for this expressed reason.

It is important to be aware of the full facts before one forms an informed opinion.

Donald Trump's stunt does not end the agreement...it just isolates the US in our own actions towards Iran.

What Trump and the Congress can do is sanction US companies from doing business with Iran.

All the other nations will not place restrictions on Iran...they have no need to honor Donald Trump's wishes. Trump's wishes to be the "great negotiator" is not their concern.

I thought the "Iran Deal" was FINALIZED during the Obama administration. (Thanks Kerry!)

And maybe Trump is trying to get a better deal.

You said the last 8 years.

That clearly denotes you did not know this was a process was began under Bush. Who cares when it was finalized? The deal is not an undoing of the last 8 years...it is the undoing of the past 12 years and two administrations. One Republican...one Democrat.

President Trump is weakening the US. The consequence will be a loss of influence in the world. Who can trust President Trump and with time running finally the USA ? And getting away from commitments already final is not the best way to be respected by allies and enemies. I can understand that the US may not be satisfied with the way the world is, but to retreat back into kind of an isolationism, will not give to the country more influence on others. In a globalized world if you want to have different policies, you need to make others share your vision. Nature hates vacuum and roles, that the USA are no more ready to play will be taken over by others for good or bad. It is in a way childish to run away, when something does not satisfy you, just to quit. When you want to influence the course of events, you need to be present where decisions are made. And either for the UNESCO matter, not to pay what you accepted in the first place as commitments for your participation and to leave 6 years later, is the best way to loose the consideration others had for you. If UNESCO is so weird, why the USA stayed in it so long, after having left it a first time from 1985 to 2003 ? And it is the same thing for the Paris Treaty of 2005. A superpower must look like a global player if it wants to exist as such.
