U.S. Health System Waste Hits $935 Billion A Year

Waste in the U.S. healthcare system is $760 billion to $935 billion annually, or 25% of total medical spending, according to a new analysis published in JAMA.
The USA spends about 18% of GDP on health care. Roughly half of that comes from the federal government, the rest mainly from private insurance and patients. The cost of health care is more than the entire federal budget exclusive of what it spends on health care.

We have the most expensive system on Earth by far, and a quarter of it is wasted.
