From POLITICO by two liberal authors. Funny how the Dims, and Fiona 'I know all there is to know' Hill don"t recall this.

Donald Trump wasn’t the only presidential candidate whose campaign was boosted by officials of a former Soviet bloc country.

Ukrainian government officials tried to help Hillary Clinton and undermine Trump by publicly questioning his fitness for office. They also disseminated documents implicating a top Trump aide in corruption and suggested they were investigating the matter, only to back away after the election. And they helped Clinton’s allies research damaging information on Trump and his advisers, a Politico investigation found.

A Ukrainian-American operative who was consulting for the Democratic National Committee met with top officials in the Ukrainian Embassy in Washington in an effort to expose ties between Trump, top campaign aide Paul Manafort and Russia, according to people with direct knowledge of the situation.

The Ukrainian efforts had an impact in the race, helping to force Manafort’s resignation and advancing the narrative that Trump’s campaign was deeply connected to Ukraine’s foe to the east, Russia. But they were far less concerted or centrally directed than Russia’s alleged hacking and dissemination of Democratic emails.

...

Yet Politico’s investigation found evidence of Ukrainian government involvement in the race that appears to strain diplomatic protocol dictating that governments refrain from engaging in one another’s elections.

Ukraine’s role in the 2016 race is undeniable: In the summer of 2016, Kiev’s release of the so-called “black ledger” resulted in Manafort’s ouster from the Trump campaign. The actions of foreign actors—however well-intentioned—directly impacted an American election.
One would imagine Washington media and lawmakers—who spent three years combing through every aspect of Moscow’s interference in our election—might direct similar attention to Kiev’s impact. Yet the Ukrainian angle barely made headlines.
If we want to get serious about safeguarding our electoral process from all foreign actors, not just Moscow-based ones, it’s time to examine Ukraine as well.

I cannot understand these bureaucrats that put Ukraine on a pedestal. Do they believe a corrupt country like Ukraine suddenly does a transformation?

The sudden obsession over Ukraine shows how worried Dims are that actual investigation may actually be taking place.
And listening to career bureaucrats wax poetic about Ukraine while at the same time never criticizing the Øbama regime for not providing lethal aid makes one notice.
Ukraine appears to have been a money laundering base.

Guess who wants you to believe Ukraine interfered in the elections and not Russia?

Article Nov 4th 2019

The whole enterprise by which the Russian racketeers would be shielded from suspicion by having that suspicion instead cast upon Ukraine—the fantastical theory that lay behind the president*'s extortionate demand of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky—was a crucial part of the strategy by which the Russian racketeers would assist the president*'s 2016 campaign. It was the alibi-in-reserve, and it was deployed.

After the campaign learned the DNC had been hacked, Manafort pushed the theory that Ukraine, not Russia, had orchestrated the attack. It’s a conspiracy theory that’s persisted in right-wing circles, even after the US Intelligence Community concluded Russia was involved, and one that Trump brought up in his July 2019 call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Manafort has been the target of the FBI since 2013 for financial fraud and on the radar of Ukraine since his connection to the financial fraud connected to the former Ukrainian President Yanukovich that had him flee to Russia in 2014. There are 302’s from Mueller’s report being released under FOIA showing Manafort was interviewed by the FBI in March 2013 and July 2014.

Unless the FBI had psychic power there is no way they could have known back in July 2014 that Trump was going to join the Trump campaign in June 2016.

Yeah, the best they have is to keep posting some Politico article that states over and over, what a couple of in Ukraine tried to "do" was minimal in comparison to Russia.
