Yes, a classic line from a classic movie...
Been a while since I watched the movie, even though I have it on Blu-Ray.

I actually like my version better. That's what they should have had him say.

It sped up our participation, but that was late in 1941. Japan had been making war on its neighbors since 1931.
It spud up the process, too.

Yeah, Germany and Japan were both raising hell long before we got in the fight.

But, we were going to get in it at some point...

Just as some think the US gubmint orchestrated the attacks on 9-11, some also think we at least knew about the Pearl Harbor attack beforehand.

It was always interesting, to me, that perhaps the most valuable vessels, aircraft carriers, were not at Pearl Harbor during the attack: The Missing Carriers of Pearl Harbor
