Yea if I were Northrams primary opponent or the the GOP competitor I would be pissed at nobody finding this earlier. It was in plain sight.
Especially after the campaign that Northam ran against Ed Gillespie which repeatedly accused him of being racist and tried to associate him with the Charlottesville marchers. There was an ad with a pickup truck flying a confederate flag and a Gillespie bumper sticker chasing down minority children. If this would have come out while Northam was running that kind of campaign, it would have devastated him.
Now here's the question. Democrats are calling on Northam to resign now. But they are doing so knowing that his seat would be filled by his progressive Lt Governor. And even if he goes because of the assault allegations, the Attorney General is a Democrat too. So Democrats aren't giving up any power. But suppose this came out during the campaign. Would they be so willing to condemn Northam if they knew that it would cost them a governor seat?

Suspect some would and others wouldnt. There are always those who think party is the top of the ladder. But I do think most would expect him to resign. Whats odd though is had he come out initially and said it wasnt him and this was outrageous, far more would be on his side. But he botched the whole thing by apologizing, then saying it wasnt him, to then admitting he donned blackface for something else. Its a bit bizarre. Now the Lt gov and the alleged sexual assault on top of it. You couldnt have written this. Now some are concerned Northram staying and refusing to resign is hurting the party. He doesnt seem like he is going anywhere.

I wish he'd have a press conference every day.

You wouldn't be posting this if he was a Repub and we all know it.
And you wouldn't be defending him if he wasn't a Democrat, let's be honest.

It's all fucking pathetic. I don't give a shit what party or color he is, if he hurt a woman, he deserves all that comes his way. But I am not American, blinded by party loyalty...

The right in Virginia are very good at digging up dirt. Meanwhile they voted for the sexual harasser living in the White house.

We knew they would be working hard with their smears so consider this just the beginning because conservatives tend to get even nastier if their smears work.

Vanessa Tyson has hired the same legal team that Christine Blasey Ford had. Apparently they could be preparing a statement on the allegations.

Vanessa Tyson, the college professor who accused Virginia Lt. Gov. Justin Fairfax of sexual assault in 2004, issued a lengthy statement Wednesday detailing the alleged incident.

"With tremendous anguish, I am now sharing this information about my experience and setting the record straight," she wrote. "It has been extremely difficult to relive that traumatic experience from 2004. Mr. Fairfax has tried to brand me as a liar to a national audience, in service to his political ambitions, and has threatened litigation. Given his false assertions, I’m compelled to make clear what happened." Tyson, now a professor at Scripps College, called the encounter with Fairfax “horrific” and said it has caused her “deep humiliation and shame.” Fairfax has said the two had a sexual encounter but described it as consensual.

In the statement, Tyson detailed how “what began as consensual kissing quickly turned into a sexual assault” in a Boston hotel room. While Fairfax’s initial advance was “not unwelcome,” he soon “forcefully pushed” her head towards his crotch. “Utterly shocked and terrified, I tried to move my head away, but could not because his hand was holding down my neck and he was much stronger than me,” Tyson says in the stement. “As I cried and gagged, Mr. Fairfax forced me to perform oral sex on him.”

A spokesperson for Fairfax, a Democrat, did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Instead of engaging in imaginary scenarios, I see partisans who actually are gaslighting for a scumbag woman beater for no other reason than he's a Democrat.
Yet you didn't believe Dr. Ford - why?

Talk about "taking" sides. Again.

Kasie Hunt from MSNBC put out a tweet:

UPDATE: Lt. Gov. Fairfax’s chief of staff and policy director acknowledge to @NBCNews that the lt. gov. used the “F” word to refer to the situation, but dispute that he used the “B” word at all or used any heated language directed toward Vanessa Tyson.
