Vulnerable patients dying of malnutrition in NHS hospitals in record numbers with nearly one case a day

VULNERABLE patients are dying of malnutrition in NHS hospitals in record numbers with nearly one case a day, according to reports.

Charities have urged authorities to do more to tackle the problem after the “shocking” statistics emerged.

...

But in many cases they were still not properly fed on NHS wards.

...this from a person who's party wants to end Medicare and Social Security.

If you have no social services for elders and provide no programs to see that they are fed and housed and have proper medical care...It is not surprising that elders are going to hospitals with malnutrition.

The hospital is not the place where elder care should start.

Caroline Abrahams, charity director at Age UK, said: “It is shocking that more than one million older people suffer from or are at risk of malnutrition in our country.”

She added: “Many of these people will eventually come into hospital or a care home – in fact nearly one in three of all older people admitted to hospital are already malnourished or at risk of malnutrition.

No worries, NHS-type healthcare is coming here, too, it's just a matter of when.

It will suck.

And, yes, there will be death panels.

You do know it is because they are underfunded, right?

We could quit paying for the Trump weekly vacations, his constant campaign trips and give health care to thousands..

The U.S. infant mortality rate is significantly higher than Canada, UK, Cuba, Sweden.

If you die before age 50 in the U.S., you were probably killed by a medical error.

In terms of economy, the U.S. spends significantly more on its health care system, for an internationally inferior product.

Let's be real: NHS, particularly under the craptastic Conservative management of the last 8 years, has issues.

But the U.S. has NO room to talk about fixing it.

A law is only as good as those that work to fund and enforce it.

We've seen an attempt from the Trump administration and the GOP to gut agencies, policies, and laws from the inside out.
