Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), a 2020 White House hopeful, on Monday acknowledged the controversy over her claim of Native American heritage, saying she has made "mistakes."
“Like anyone who's been honest with themselves, I know that I have made mistakes," Warren told attendees at the Frank LaMere Native American Presidential Forum in Sioux City, Iowa.

"I am sorry for harm I have caused. I have listened and I have learned a lot, and I am grateful for the many conversations we have had together," she added.
Warren tells Native Americans: 'I have made mistakes'

President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he planned to revive an old attack strategy on Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren, focusing on her contentious past claims of Native American heritage.
“Like, Elizabeth Warren — I did the Pocahontas thing,” Trump said during a New Hampshire rally Thursday. “I hit her really hard and it looked like she was down and out but that was too long ago, I should’ve waited. But don’t worry, we will revive it.”

Trump vows to revive 'Pocahontas' attack against Warren

“The name becomes a derogatory racial reference when used as an insult,” the Alliance of Colonial Era Tribes’ general secretary said in a statement Monday. “American Indian names, whether they be historic or contemporary, are not meant to be used as insults. To do so is to reduce them to racial slurs.” Native American Groups Slap Down Trump’s ‘Pocahontas’ Comment

Last time a politician tried to play the "Native American" card he ended up losing the election. If Trump tries it , presuming she's the nominee, he'll lose the election as well. The only people who could possibly respond well to that are likely already Trump supporters. Others would likely rather look at Warrens proposals and what she's offering. Warren is among current front runners that polls show would likely beat Trump in the general election. The only thing that might hurt her is that her policies are such that Trump could very conceivably label her a socialist. That would be a branding that's more likely to hurt Warren. But, even that could hurt Trump if he decides to run a racist campaign.

Does not seem like this "issue" is causing any problems for her (except with the TrumpClan, who are never going to vote for her anyway)

She is now second in a lot of polls, behind Biden.

Calling Sen Warren names is puerile and boorish. This type of mudslinging is beneath the Presidency. Let her quixotic proposals and ideology speak for themselves.

The plan unveiled on Friday, which was first posted by Warren's campaign on Medium, calls for criminal justice reform on tribal lands, and specifically calls on the Department of Justice "to investigate the epidemic of sexual assaults and murders committed against Native women and prosecute offenders."

Warren also proposed setting up a system comparable to the Amber Alert system for when children go missing, which would send notifications out for Native Americans.
The senator's plan also seeks to improve the financial and physical infrastructure of Native American communities, including by legalizing marijuana on tribal property and improving access to electricity and clean drinking water.

Since she is WHITE ,pretending to be a Cherokee ,it is NOT racist (whatever that means) to call her on it. In fact ,every Regular American who hates Socialism should be shouting "Fake Indian" from the rooftops. But of course ,it is OK for a Dem politician to put out pictures of assassinating Trump.

70% income Tax will speak loudly. 20% Wealth Tax (which is dipping into SAVINGS accounts) Will speak loudly. But showing her defending what a PHONY she is will REALLY speak loudly.

If an incumbent President with this economy has to resort to callow mudslinging to defeat a challenger with her progressive ideology, than he has bigger problems to contend with than her heritage.
