Public opinion polls show shift toward impeaching Trump
Public opinion is shifting in favor of Democrats on impeachment, with new polls showing about half the nation supports a House inquiry into President Trump after revelations he pressured the Ukrainian president to investigate former Vice President Joe Biden.

The latest NPR-PBS NewsHour-Marist survey found 49 percent approval for impeachment, against 46 percent who said they disapprove. That’s a 10-point jump in favor of impeachment over the same survey from April, around the time former special counsel Robert Mueller’s report on Russia's election interference was released.

He still enjoys a 42% approval rating. IMO, impeachment will not happen unless he falls below 30%.

I don't think the Ukraine issue will have that impact.

The system could be changed, something like in Europe where a new election could be called. Though I suppose the Eurounion makes it a different situation than in the past, so an adoption of past European parliamentary procedures.

Public opinion polls show shift toward impeaching Trump
That will, no doubt, put pressure on the Senate, but it boils down to why Trump won the election over Hillary even though she won the popular vote by a slim margin: vote by state.

Still, it’s a slim margin as your link points out: “The latest NPR-PBS NewsHour-Marist survey found 49 percent approval for impeachment, against 46 percent who said they disapprove. One reason dumbasses the uneducated, ill-informed and back-side of the IQ curve don’t believe in polls is because they don’t know how to read them. The most oft used example were the polls predicting Hillary would win. As all of us intelligent, educated and sane people know, it’s a matter of knowing how to read and understand polls plus having the critical thinking skills to know if it’s a valid poll or not. While I have no doubt the poll listed in the link is valid, what is not mentioned is a state-by-state accounting since that is exactly how the Senate will vote. We are in election season and Senators, especially those seeking reelection, will be cognizant of the desires of their constituents, not national opinion......just as it was designed by the Founders.

If this Ukraine scandal turns out to be what it looks like it is, I'm betting the polls will sway even more.
There will always be that 32+ % of core crime supporters (uneducated whites) that will follow this Presidency off of a cliff though.
