Letter says no more cooperation until a vote is taken..

President Trump’s lawyers will soon send a blistering letter to House Democrats.

In it, they say the President and his administration won’t cooperate in an ongoing impeachment inquiry, arguing the proceedings amount to an illegitimate effort to overturn the 2016 election results.

The lengthy letter all but dares House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to hold a formal vote opening an impeachment inquiry into Trump, a step she has so far resisted. The letter claims Trump's due process rights have been circumvented without a vote and that Trump has no choice but to not cooperate.

The letter also makes clear the administration will continue to reject requests from Democrats if the proceedings continue in their current fashion.

What a crock. What kind of White House is going to regard the prospect of "impeachment" as legitimate? There is no judicial review of the process, no established framework for how the House should go about it; it is one of the few unchecked powers Congress has, to ensure no one can interfere if a majority of the House wants to restrain the president. They are just carving new constitutional theory out of whole cloth.

It would be bold, except it's an act of desperation. It would be aggressive, except they're all driven by hiding things and suppressing their exposure, not taking risks to attain victory. It is just not very smart and all it will succeed in doing is dragging the process out and generating new negative headlines. Rather than a coordinated strategy, this all comes off as a fly-by-night attempt to keep the boss happy. It's dumb and it will not work.

I agree and would add that their other objective is to kill Bidens campaign. They see him as THE threat and want him gone. Thats why McConnell said today "I would have no choice but to subpoena VP Biden and his son if this moves forward." That puts them square into primary season.
