President Obama solidified at least some of his post-presidency plans during a town-hall event hosted by ESPN’s the Undefeated on Tuesday — he’s going to get some rest.

“I am going to sleep for two weeks and then I am going to take Michelle on a very nice vacation,” Obama joked at the event at North Carolina A&T University, a historically black school.

Afterward, the President said that he will continue working with the initiatives he and the First Lady launched during their time in the White House — My Brother’s Keeper Initiative and Let Girls Learn, which on Tuesday celebrated the International Day of the Girl with more private-sector commitments to expanding girls’ education across the globe. My Brother’s Keeper was launched in the aftermath of Trayvon Martin’s death and the trial that brought forward the acquittal of his killer. Last spring, a privately run My Brother’s Keeper Alliance was launched, offering a formal platform for the program after the President leaves office.

The initiative is centered around bringing opportunity to young minority men, who often face barriers to opportunity. “The central principal is: for so many of our boys, it is important to have an adult who is taking an interest in them,” Obama explained. “Who tells them you are worth something, you are important.”

After the White House, Obama Will Sleep for 'Two Weeks'

Obama will also be involved with this:

Former Attorney General Eric Holder will be chair of the National Democratic Redistricting Committee, a new organization that aims to redraw district maps for future elections, Politico reported on Monday.

"American voters deserve fair maps that represent our diverse communities — and we need a coordinated strategy to make that happen," Holder told Politico.

President Barack Obama plans to focus on these efforts after he leaves office and "strongly endorsed" Holder's appointment, Politico reported. In his State of the Union address, Obama called for the end of gerrymandering, when district maps are drawn in a way to favor one party over the other. This process makes it easier for one party to win a majority in the House of Representatives.

Obama to focus on redistricting after he leaves office

Good for him. Gerrymadering by either side is real travesty.

And good for Michelle for focusing on girl's education.

Hopefully Michelle Obama will do something that she finds satisfying. She seems like a good person with a will to do good in the world.

I think the international foundation biz is not terribly attractive after HRC III.
I would have used a sarcastic emoticon but I could not find one. The post got a couple of thanks but I think they will soon take them back when they realize what a putz I am.

She's been an outstanding first lady. And she's super smart. I'm sure she will choose something that will impact other people's lives in good way. Focusing on girl's education is a great place to start.

I could actually see her running for senate when the girls are out of the house. She is a fabulous motivator and phenomenal speaker.
