So what makes them credible? Because they say so? They back up the media and visa versa. It's painfully obvious to anyone with more than a passing familiarity with these sites, they have a political agenda to push and are biased as biased can be, just like 97% of the media.

Yet people love to quote them like they are the end all, be all of facts and truth. Here is just one site dedicated to exposing them, i will post a couple of my favorites, you can see a very long list at the link.
PolitiFact Slams Rick Scott as 'False' for Citing Actual Green New Deal Document

'Fact Checkers' Ignore Stacey Abrams Claiming 'I Won' When She Lost by 55,000 Votes

Stacey Abrams is currently doing a wonderful job illustrating how the "independent fact checkers" of the liberal media can look at a Democrat stating an obvious non-fact and say nothing. Abrams says "I won" the Georgia governor's race when she lost by 55,000 votes.

WashPost 'Fact Checker' Skips Pinocchios for Omar on CAIR, Adds Bizarre Bush 'Context'

The Washington Post "Fact Checker" completely avoided any Pinocchios for a fact-mangling Democrat again. That's because the liberals at the Post were upset at the conservative outrage that Rep. Ilhan Omar said "some people did something" on 9/11. The "fact" squad actually defended Omar by comparing her to President George W. Bush's speeches in the days after 9/11. In a speech at a CAIR fundraiser, Omar incorrectly claimed it was "founded after 9/11."

PolitiFact Slams Rick Scott as 'False' for Citing Actual Green New Deal Document

The “fact checkers” keep sounding like they’re merely doing aggressive spin for the Democrats. On February 25, PolitiFact flagged Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) as “False” for writing in an Orlando Sentinel op-ed that the Green New Deal has a goal of “ending air travel.”

Not this...again.

Use your common sense people.

It's easy to spot a biased article

Not rocket science.

And the irony of using "Newsbusters" as your source

Which is a highly biased website.

They are providing examples of bias. I just found them by googling the question in the thread title. Can you display an example?

From your OP

That's because the liberals at the Post were upset at the conservative outrage that Rep. Ilhan Omar said "some people did something" on 9/11.

If you can't see the bias in that statement, then I can't help you.

It's so easy to spot a biased article, we got article after article about Russian/Trump collusion, except there was no Trump/Russian collusion. Did fact checkers say anything about these "worthy" sites? Nope. Did all of the posters on this board realize they were being duped? Obviously, not.

Here is an excerpt from a long read.
The Daily Mail Snopes Story And Fact Checking The Fact Checkers

David also did not respond to a request for comment on why Snopes fact checks rarely mention that they reached out to the authors of the article being fact checked to get their side of the story. Indeed, Journalism 101 teaches you that when you write an article presenting someone or something in a negative light, you must give them the opportunity to respond and provide their side of the story. Instead, Snopes typically focuses on the events being depicted in the article and contacts individuals and entities named in the story, but Snopes fact checks typically do not mention contacting the authors of the articles about those events to see if those reporters claim to have additional corroborating material, perhaps disclosed to them off the record.

In essence, in these cases Snopes performs “fact checking from afar,” rendering judgement on news stories without giving the original reporters the opportunity for comment.

Snopes has "fact checked" the Babylon Bee, a satire site.
