Fake news is when the reporting is so biased that they forego any facts that do not help the desired narrative.

It is dangerous when you have various news outlets that can report on the same event and the only consistent details are the date and the names of the people involved.
One thing ALMOST all fake news articles have in common is anonymous sources.

There are no names.

funny thing is I just watched a press briefing where Trump said the very same thing. Isn't it also dangerous when a country has elected leaders presuming to decide for themselves which news reports it's citizen's should believe? Especially, when that country has citizen's that dutifully go out and repeat what that elected official says? Before Trump appropriated the term "fake news" it meant something completely different. It meant stories that were truly "fake", misinformation, propaganda, etc. Not legitimate news sources like CNN, Fox News, or MSNBC. Bias news is not necessarily "fake news". Editorials are often quite bias.
You miss the days of G.W. Bush don't you .... when the fake news MSM could and did say anything false about the President they wanted, including "Docugate" and Ol' Puss-n-Boots just shut up and took it.

Well ....

There's a new Sheriff in town and he isn't putting up with that Bull Sh*t!

so your answer is that we , as consumers of the news, should rely on the president to fact-check the media for us?

That's a really dumb comment.

I don't pay much attention to what the President says about the media, except when he gets the occasional zinger in on CNN.

You should really try to evaluate for yourself whether the news you are reading is fake.

It's really not that hard.

The government should elect a body to handle complaints about the media and have the power to impose fines, but I can see the 1st amendment knocking that on the head.

you just posted that there's a new sheriff in town who isn't putting up the media reporting what ever they want. Now, you're saying you don't pay much attention to what he says. Which is it? You're not saying we should believe him when he claims the media is "fake news"?

I didn't say anything at all about the media reporting what ever they wanted.

You did.

I was referring to the fake news MSM reporting fake news stories about the President and the President not standing silent for it, as G.W. did.
